  • What do you want your students to take away from class?

Students should learn that there is not just one best way of achieving lofty management goals. Managers need to find the managerial style and approach that is the best fit for them, their employees, and their organization. Also, learning to be more creative and innovative in business management can certainly be an exciting and fun adventure! Continuously learning and reinventing oneself to adapt to constant changes is, indeed, very important given disruptions that occur in technology, processes, products, industries, economies, and societies. Life is a journey that should be embraced!

  • What advice would you give to your future online students?

Always maintain an open mind and try not to prejudge ideas, individuals, cultures, and ways of accomplishing goals and objectives. The world of business is constantly changing and evolving. One of the best sets of skills you can develop is how to successfully adapt to the ever-changing world in which we live and operate our businesses. Adaptation, reinvention, creativity, and innovation are essential for business managers and their organizations, industries, and economies.

  • What is the value of an MBA?

An MBA from the AACSB-accredited University of Wisconsin-Parkside Department of Business equips students with knowledge, skills, and a wide range of approaches needed to effectively manage and conduct business operations in all types of organizations. The MBA, therefore, is a wise investment of time and effort that historically results in an excellent return on investment!

  • Why did you start teaching?

Education has always been highly valued in my family. We are fortunate to have several very successful educators, attorneys, doctors, and business executives in my family. My father, for example, was honored as the Distinguished Alumnus at my undergraduate university at the same time that I graduated cum laude with the first of my three college degrees. Subsequently, my father and I served as members of a Board of Directors for our alma mater. I strongly believe that education is critically important for individuals, families, and societies. Thus, I became an educator to make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of others. I love learning more and more and helping others to do the same.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

I am a prolific reader and could write an entire book about books I would recommend. So, it is too difficult for me to cite just one book to recommend.

  • What do you do when you need a laugh?

I love to laugh and believe in the power of laughter and finding humor in life. I often listen to, and share, humorous stories and remarks with family, friends, colleagues, and others. My travels across the country and around the world bring much joy, happiness, and laughter as well. In addition, there are several very funny plays and television shows I enjoy watching if I want a good laugh.

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know.

I have traveled extensively to 45 countries on four continents! I often make presentations, conduct workshops, teach classes, and have business meetings abroad. In addition, my family travels together to other countries at least once or twice every year. We love to learn about and explore other cultures.
